Factories and businesses in China will remain closed beyond the Chinese New Year holiday, until February 9th, meaning some Protolabs Network orders may have longer lead times than expected.
The Coronavirus is a global health crisis, mainly impacting China, but several cases have been identified in other regions. Because of the outbreak, the Chinese government has instructed companies and factories to remain closed until February 9th, beyond the Chinese New Year holiday, in order to stop the spreading of the virus. Currently, the plan is for factories to re-open on February 10th.
With over 20% of global manufacturing depending on China, manufacturing capacity worldwide will be disrupted. This disruption will likely affect some Protolabs Network orders, particularly CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and injection molding.
How do I know if my order has been delayed?
If you have placed an order which is affected by the extended holiday, a dedicated customer success representative will be in touch within the next 24 hours, to inform you about the status of your order.
Similarly, if you have a pending quote request, we will contact you if your lead time is affected. If you have raised a dispute which is impacted, you will also be notified by a representative if there is a delay.
If you are not contacted by Protolabs Network about changes to your order, your parts will be delivered with no unexpected delays.
