We’re very excited to announce $18M in Series C funding today! With this funding, we'll continue to make cutting edge, high-quality manufacturing accessible to engineers worldwide. We’ll also accelerate the development of our online platform for faster lead-times, more accurate quoting, as well as structural integrity of parts.
The story behind Protolabs Network and our platform
We launched Protolabs Network in 2013 and quickly became the world’s largest 3D printing community and marketplace. Over the past two years, more professional engineers started using our services, which brought new requirements to the platform.
With the shift to professional users, we started focusing more heavily on the automation, standardization, and the reliability of Protolabs Network. We also added CNC machining and injection molding to the services offered.
Together we are changing the rules of the manufacturing industry
Today, over 20,000 engineers are using Protolabs Network, working with 250 trusted suppliers. More than 2 Million high-quality, custom parts have been produced to date!
It is now easy to cost-effectively source custom parts using 3D printing, CNC machining, and injection molding, with more technologies coming soon. Together we are changing the rules of the manufacturing industry.
The next chapter
With this Series C round, we’ll continue to build out a future for online, on-demand manufacturing. With the focus now being on automating the production of end-parts, we’ll be able to help engineers to get their products to market faster than ever before.
“Protolabs Network is committed to being a radical innovator in the manufacturing industry – building pricing and manufacturability algorithms that are said to have the same potential as Google’s search algorithms,” says Protolabs Network co-founder and CEO, Bram de Zwart.
We want to give a big thanks to our investors, and the global community of engineers and manufacturers using our platform. Let’s drive the future of manufacturing!
Bram, Brian, Filemon and the Protolabs Network team.
